yep, i have an acer travelmate c300 and a tom tom bluetooth gps reciever

Can you tell me the good/bad of using a tablet/gps. Can you see more
detail with the larger display??

Assuming you mean for in car use, I think a Pocket PC is an ideal size
as you can have it near the windscreen without any major effect on
your view so you can look at it with a glance. When you are driving
you need easy to see information as Tomtom provides, not a page full
of detail. My next GPS will most likely be a smart phone with GPS.

it is the cheapest gps if you have a laptop/tablet already

the tradeoff is the huge hassle of putting it away everytime you are
away from your vehicle for obvious security reason

no matter how secure your laptop/tablet mount, you cannot go off road
