Hi there,

can you give me some recommendations
which handheld GPS to get?

Any reason to prefer a specific brand,
features I should be looking for, etc.?
How is availability / price of maps?

I plan to use it mostly for boating in
Southern California, occasionally elsewhere
for hiking, sailing, or in the car.

I am currently leaning towards the Magellan
Explorist 400, 500, or 600, any thoughts on
that?
