| had my first sat nav TT GO700 for several months now, and as a service eng I
use it daily. Don't know how i lived without it, its an amazing piece of
kit.
I have a problem connecting to the net (tomtom plus) and although thats not
the end of the world, I also have a nokia 6680 with blue tooth, I can make
and recieve calls fine but can' go into the phones phonebook.Just get a
screen message "this function is not supported".
I suspect some of the problem relates to the fact i am on the 3 network?????
Can anyone help? would be interested to know if anyone on 3 has successfully
set up these two functions
CheersTim

Can't help with the phone issue, some features are simply not supported by
all phones. However 'Three' is your problem for access to PLUS. Their
Internet is a walled garden service withy access to pre-approved sites only
hence your problem accessing PLUS. I'd ask 'Three' to add TomTom's PLUS
servers to their approved list.

Ok
This is a little long winded but what you need to do is to generate a file called
Contacts.txt
In this file you need one line per phone number with the following format
"name" ,"Number"
once you have completed this you then need to copy the file into the route directory on the TT700.
If you use Outlook and sync to the phone you can export the phone book as a .csv file and then edit it to be in the
correct format.

How do you like the hands free BT associated with the 700? Is it worth
the extra money as opposed to the 300?

Could someone explain what this BlueTooth features achieves?
I already use a cell phone along with a BlueTooth headset while driving.
What useful functions does the BlueTooth feature of the TTG 500 and 700
offer that a headset lacks?

| Thanks for the replys, at least I now know the cause of my problems
As far as the blue tooth is concerned, I personally think it is very usefull
and IS worth the extra money.
Benefits include(for me anyway)
Didn't need to buy an extra blootooth headset
is always fully charged (by the car)
allows conference calls in car ie all in car can speak / hear (maybe not
always a good thing)
Displays incoming call number on screen
Can access phones phone book on screen
Can send and receive text messages (written on screen using touch or remote)
Each to their own you pays your money, you take your choice.

| Yeah I also think it's a feature that's unique and cool to the 700 for
all the benefits you've listed above. Having one console where I can
see where I am going and receive calls really cuts down on the
craziness. Did you get your issues figured out with the Bluetooth? I'd
love to know how you're liking it.
