Author GPSlim236 Auto Power-Off ?

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I've just bought a GPSlim 236 Bluetooth receiver but I am unclear as to
whether this has an automatic power off feature. I've read reviews which
says it has, but the documentation that came with it doesn't mention it. If
it has, does this mean that I can simply leave the switch in the "on"
position when connected in the car to the switched 12V ? I assume that in
this case when I turn off the ignition (and therefore remove the 12V supply
to the unit), the unit will simply run down on battery until such time as I
turn on the ignition again when it will charge back up ? Is this a sensible
thing to do ?

TIA.

Switch it to off. Once 5V comes through the power supply, it will turn
on, and turn off again when the 5V go away. The battery will NOT run
down this way. At leaset this is my understanding.

The 236 does not have auto-off. In the case you stated, when connected to
an ignition controlled 12v source it will remain on when power is removed
until the battery expires although you could just remove the battery in
which case it will power ON/OFF with the ignition?
