Mio201 and MP3 help Please

I have transferred my tom tom 5 files to a 2 Gb SD card and
put my original card with the software in a safe place, all
working O K

The question is, is it Ok putting my card into my card reader and
drag and drop my mp3 files into it, will the Mio recognize and play
them when I put the card back into it or should I leave the card in
the Mio and drag and drop into the card using Activesync or is there a
better way.

Sorry but this is all new to me
