When I ran the WebUpdater today for my Legend Cx it told me that I
already have the latest software version.

So far so good.

But then it tells me that "there may be further updates available for
your device". When I continue it then asks me to "Put a check mark next
to the updates you wish" and then gives me the option of the GPSmap
60cx/60CSx/76Cx/76CSx! It then seems to be willing to go ahead with the
download.

I assume that it would eventually do a double check to prevent loading
the wrong firmware. Being a cautious soul I didn't want to take the risk
and possibly end up with a broken gps receiver.

Has anyone else actually gone to the next step and downloaded GPSmap
firmware to their Legend? What happened?

From what I've read on other threads that "further update" is for
downloading firmware from SiRF for the SiRF III chipset that is
in the 60x and 76x series receivers. The Legend Cx does not have
the SiRF chipset so there aren't any more updates. Sounds like
WebUpdater needs some work.
