| August 2006 issue rated the Garmin Nuvi 350 ($800.00) as the best , with the
Garmin Street Pilot 2730 rated #2 ($850.00). to my surprise, the Lowrance
iway 350C was rated #12.
Tom Tom Go 300 placed #4 ($500.00) & Tom Tom Go 700 placed #5 ($700.00).
as far as the best buy for your dollar, they rated the Garmin Street Pilot
i5 ($350.00).

We covered all that in another thread last week. They rated the Magellan
360 as #5 (?) based on price/performance, but the street price was much
lower than the CU price.

I found the CU price for the Street Pilot I5 to be very accurate at $350.00.
If someone can find a price any better than that, let us know - please!

THAT is a good deal

I'm curious as to why CU rated the iway 350c low. Did they comment on their
reason? When that GPS hit the streets it received very good reviews and
awards. That's why I bought one. And two. And three. Each one died very
quickly and I ended up with a Nuvi. (more $ though) While it worked it
worked great. A very seeable screen and nice features. (No text to speech
though) Lowrance is new to automotive GPS and the theory is QC at the
manufacturing plants. And I think some design issues. Most problems seem to
relate to its charging circuit.
If you have one and it's working... you have a nice GPS and a good bargain.

Yes it is. I searched for a long time and couldn't find anyone to beat it.
There is a downside, though: 8 to 10 days for free shipping. I prefer
getting my orders in 2 or 3 days - which brings the shipping charge up to
$29.95 for a total of $358.95. But, as I said, it is a very good deal at
$329. Some local retailers in my area are charging over $500 for the I5.
