Hi,

I bought myself a Tomtom Go 910 this weekend, which so far I am happy
with.

I do have a Q about the glass mounted dock tho.

Do people leave it attached the the windscreen all the time, and expect
it to stay there ?

I drove to the coast yesterday, and it stayed on all the way there, but
(after being left in the sun admittedly) shortly after heading back it
fell off.

I stopped and put it back on, but this time I noticed it gradually
'wilting' at the universal joint, so from being half inch or so above
dash, it was resting on it.

Both occasions, I have definately had it on the 2nd locking position.

Is this (both) typical ?

I have found this with my new TT GO 910. Now I set up with it resting on
the dash. I also find on a bright day that the screen is hard to see
and catches reflections from inside the car, espec if I am wearing a
white shirt.

The alternative vent mount (not sure how secure that would be) isn't yet
available, but I may see if I can get one in the USA when I go there
soon.

Never leave to the dock on the windscreen when you are not in the car.

It acts as a big flashing warning sign to the local scumbag that there maybe
a satnav unit in the glovebox or under the drivers seat.

To the second point if mounted correctly and the glass was clean it should
stay put, as to the sagging joint, get back to TomTom for the latest excuse
on that one..

I did see a post on a another board yesterday that TomTom has modified
the mount for the Go 910, I guess they heard the complaints people were
having with it. I would say if it keeps happening contact TomTom and
tell them you have a mount problem and they should send you the new
modified one, I would think.
