Aus TomTom Map Upgrade - anyone know how to get a human at TT?
|
|
|
| Like a number of people on this ng, I recently bought a TomTom and wanted to take advantage of the free map upgrade offer. Now that I've paid for the product, its been a couple weeks and I've found: 1) the fax number quoted to submit the upgrade voucher doesn't work (despite trying it repeatedly), 2) there's no response to the email alternative they offered, 3) when you try and raise the issue throught their online support page...ditto: no answer. Apparently when you submit your voucher, you should then get a link to download it at. Not complicated.
TT's got a complaint page, which states "TomTom wants...make it easy for you to raise your complaint" They then give you a postal address in Holland to send a written letter to (so much for making it easy).
Does anyone out there have an email address for customer service at TomTom to try and get the offer fulfilled?
Gus
PS - Others have noted that the upgrade offer closes soon and the issue of a fulfillment fax number that doesn't work, no response email addresses, has been going for weeks -- seems the kind of thing the office of fair trading would view in a very dim light.

I managed to get a fax through to them, after about 10 attempts my fax machine finally said "Sent", but haven't had a response back. Maybe my fax machine just said "Sent" after it gave up in frustration! Emails to their email address have also been bouncing back. Really slack effort on the part of Tom Toms Australian business. Absolutely hopeless service from Tom Tom Australia. I want my free upgrade that i was told I would receive, and i sure as hell ain't writing a bloody letter to Holland to get it!!!!!

| Spoke with TomTom Customer Support on 17/08/06.
The v.13 Sensis (AUS) maps have been delayed. Though available in the new 710 & 910 models, they have to check compatibility with the older GO, TomTom One and Rider. Current estimate for release is now put back to mid September.
For those who sent their update vouchers and proof of purchase in, they are working through the list (thousands of customers) and sending e-mails out advising receipt of the vouchers. There are only four girls doing this and they are also answering the Customer Support line.
Upon checking my details with them, I was on the list to get an e-mail but it had not been sent yet..
Patience is a virtue possessed by few ! It is coming albeit slowly.
Cheers.
