Can you say me a good and clear way (or a tutorial link) to create
downloadable map for Garmin GPS (Etrex series and 60 CSx)?

THANK YOU!

Please feel free to download my MapMan application, using the link below,
which will do this for you. MapMan has a comprehensive help system which, I
hope, will explain to you all the processes involved.

MapMan is free for the basic feature set. For some more advanced features
(which you may decide you don't need) there is a small licence fee.

Like most programs of its type, MapMan uses a second program called
cGPSMapper for the final part of the process of creating the Garmin format
map file. cGPSMapper is also free and the MapMan help system explains how
to install it. Once you have installed cGPSMapper you can forget about it
because MapMan will call it for you.

If you have any specific questions about MapMan I will do my best to answer
them in this forum.

Regards
Keith

an harder way;
http://www.cgpsmapper.com/ - an .img compiler (from a text format)
http://geopainting.com/en - a GUI to make the text files needed above

If you intend to distribute your maps to other devices, yes.

I use these tools myself. It works great for me. But cgpsmapper syntax
(the part that MapEdit doesn't cover) can be hard to understand.

MapEdit is a cool tool. If you combine it with OziExplorer maps (your
own!) you have a winner.

wait. I have a Gamon GPS60CSx
I have a paper map of a zone WITHOUT car route (the bigger wilderness
zone in Europe...) but with a lot of path (for trekking). Some of them
are only treces or are no more existing cause nature re-growing.

Really I don'want to draw a map.For me is enough create the paths on
my gps in way that it recognizes them as route....

Can I do this with mapwel?

I tried to open a map but it says:

Loading data from file 'C:\Documents and Settings\andrea\Desk
top\x
gps\mappe\valgrande.map'...
WARNING: No corner points defined (expected in MMPXY and MMPLL).
Please try to update the .MAP file with newer version of OziExplorer.
ERROR: loading has terminated.

????

thank you again

ps: I use ozi 3.95.4

To do that you should look into http://www.oziexplorer.com - that tool can
easily create tracks/routes from a given paper map.
