How to find distance between 2 waypoints on eTrex?

| Is there a way to find the straight line distance between two waypoints
in a Garmin eTrex? I have a Legend C if that makes a difference. I
can find the distance from my present location to a waypoint, but can't
figure out how to find the distance between two waypoints when I am not
at either one.
Thanks.

| OK, I see that there is a way (RTFM!), you choose Measure Distance from
the current location, then navigate on the map to the first waypoint,
click the joystick, then navigate to the second waypoint, and there you
have the distance.
But, if you try to jump either waypoint, it takes you out of the
measure distance mode.

Another way is to place waypoints at the two points, add the two
waypoints to a new route, and look at the leg distance to the second
waypoint in the route.
