Author TomTom touch screen problems?

Hi

Just got a TomTom Go 510, quite happy so far, but find some touch screen
operations tricky if not impossible, i.e. dragging the map around and
adjusting the zoom level. This seems to mostly take me back to the previous
menu, or just randomly change zoom and/or location.

Wondering if this is a genuine fault, a design bug, or what?

Does anyone get this to work as it should?

ps I would say my fingers are pretty normal, not huge or wierd in any
way......

thanks
Charles

In answer to my own question, I tried an improvised stylus (rubber/eraser
end of a pencil) and it worked perfectly

maybe fingers create electrical noise???
