TomTom - Any Hope for Downloadable OFF- Road Maps for Europe?

| Hi,
I just bought a TomTom 6 GPS system for use on a smartphone. Thing is,
I don't have a car and don't drive.
I know I can plan routes for walking and cycling with it, but I would
really like to find official downloadable maps that include cycling and
walking paths not open to cars at all - canal towpaths, forest trails,
etc. It would also be cool if it could trace official cycling routes.
When I was in the Netherlands where there are cycling routes to
everywhere, they had specific markings on the road maps to indicate
cycling pistes and what type they were.
This would presumably be a separate application or map system developed
by TomTom. Given that they are in the Netherlands, does anyone know if
they plan to do something like this?

So use bicycle or pedestrian route planning in Tomtom.

That doesn't show off road routes. He really needs a completely seperate
application, TomTom is unsuitable.

That's right - they still take you along vehicle routes, and don't know
about off-road footpaths etc. The only concession to pedestrians is that it
lets you go the wrong way round roundabouts and down one-way streets if this
results in a shorter route.
