Hello,

I have small laptop UMPC running tablet XP
I have external bluetooth device which I use on my PDA, but when I
pair it to my laptop it does not recognize the GPS service, I guess I
need to add something on my laptop to look for such services.

Any idea?

Roni

I'm not too familiar with bluetooth on a PC/laptop, so I don't know if what
you want (I think a direct link between BT GPS en BT Laptop) is possible. I
think it should be possible if you can tell the Laptop BT to act as a serial
input port and the GPS to act as a serial output port. I can't help you with
that, though, by lack of practical knowledge.

But I know there is a way to route your GPS-data from your PDA to PC/Laptop
by using Franson GPSgate on both the PDA and Laptop.

AG.

Hi there,

I use a usb bluetooth peg on my laptop for the same reason you
describe. I have used my bluetooth services on the desktop to search
for the gps reciever, and the software I use for mapping automatically
assigns it a com port. The mapping software then works flawlessly as a
sat-nav.
Point to note here is that the pairing of the gps reciever to the
laptop via bluetooth will not result in it displaying any gps
properties whatsoever. It does work flawlessly though when paired and
used in combination with mapping software (I use autoroute 2007 with
gps locator)
