Author tomtom one shuts down in a particular area?

My TomTom one shuts down on the highway when I travel through a certain
area, and then restarts.

I noticed that this is an area around a gasoline tank farm. Do you think
there is intentional interference, and I have a bad TomTom?

It must be something in the map at that particular location that the
software cannot handle and it crashes.

Before the latest map update (for USA and California) there were three
locations (one on highway I80 near Sacramento, one on I80 near
Fairfield, and one on US101 near Gilroy) that would crash my GO300 every
time I passed through those locations, just like yours. I borrowed a
friends GO300 and it also crashed at the same locations so it was not my
unit that was defective.

So far, with the new maps, I have only had the unit crash twice but not
on a route that I normally travel (while on vacation) so I don't know if
it was location reproducible.

BTW when I called Tomtom tech support about the problem, they had never
heard of such a problem even though I could reproduce it at will, with
two different units just by traveling through a particular area.

Thanks, at least I'm not alone. That makes more sense than my theory!

Me three. TomTom on my smartphone crashes also on at least two positions. It
must be a map issue, as a crash also occurs when I do a demo run of a route
crossing one of these points.

If it also crashes on demo, then the TT-people should be able to
reproduce this behavior. Contact them and provide the information you
posted here.
