This model was only available at Best Buy. I am looking for a
aftermarket battery for it. Does anyone know which model has the
equivalent battery, as it looks like the battery makers do not sell
one specifically for the TomTom ONE LE due to its limited
availability. I'm thinking it would be either the TomTom ONE, or the
TomTom 3rd Edition.

I would assume that it's the same battery for all these models. But I doubt
that its the sort of item you can purchase yourself.

Why does a new unit need a new battery? Wouldn't this be covered under
warranty?

The LE is just basically a TomTom One Regional or TomTom One v.2
