Problem loading maps GONAV S6000A
|
|
|
| I purchased this unit last month. It had preloaded maps on an SD
Cart. I tried copying maps to the SD card or my hard disk and
everytime my explorer says problems encountered and then closes. Any
suggestions or does anyone know if there are bugs with this software.
It is using Intellinav.
Thanks

Maps preloaded to SD cards may be using some form of copy protection.
The ability to use the CPRM copy protection technology is built into
every SD card, whether it is in use or not.
It is all about limiting the use of the data to the one instance sold at
retail. It keeps people from copying it and selling it or giving it away.
I don't have a GONAV but I'd suspect that is what you are seeing here.
There is always a lot of ongoing effort to hack the protection schemes
but some of them simply cannot be hacked at the consumer level.

Hi Norm:
I also purchased the GonNav S600A and had problems loading the maps to
a 2 gig high speed SD card. After printing the manual and trying
everything I could think of, I called the Canadian helpline number
(1-800-663-5954) and they said that they would immediately send me new
software that would solve the problem.
They have a website: http://www.rgccanada.com/corporate/en/support/
that you can refer to or you can contact them by e-mail at

Good luck
