Garmin MapSource upgrade to 6.12.2.0 failure
|
|
|
| I am running Garmin MapSource 6.11.6. Windows XP, updated
I just did a Mapsource Check for Updates:
Got: The MapSource version 6.12.2.0 update is available for download
When I say yes to upgrade I get a window:
Title: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\yada yada\Temp\GARMIN~1\M
APSOU~1.EXE
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
yada yada Choose "Close" to terminate the application.
Anybody else see this?
Any idea when it will be noticed and fixed?
Thanks, John

| Thank you! Downloading it from there worked.
Does the GPS unit get updated with the relevant
new features (like the new waypoint icons) at
the next sync?
If not, is there an automated or manual way to
update the sw on the unit?
Thanks, John

| I just discovered the WebUpdater stuff. I think this
answers my question. Sorry for the bandwidth.

I get exactly the same message. Also, the downloaded file is only 1 kB
(!). This update is not available on the Swedish Garmin home page.
