Author Dashboard Mounting - TomTom One V2

I have used industrial strength velcro to attach my gps' suction mount to my dashboard. I put velcro inside the suction cup of the mount, then the other piece of velcro on the dashboard. One vehicle has the velcro in a cooler space that has adhered very well. But when I put the velcro on the dash on my other vehicle in direct sunlight it simply slides off of the dashboard once hot. Is there an adhesive that can handle the high extreme heat of a car's interior without failing that I can use to adhere to the velcro? What about Dow Corning's 736 adhesive? Anyone attempted this?

I really prefer the velcro since the TomTom is so light. I never have issues with the velcro 'un-attaching'''; only coming off in the heat.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Why not use one of those self adhesive plastic discs and then use the
suction cup to attach to that?

Sounds like it would work, but how do I know the 'adhesive' disc will stick
and survive the heat? What kind of adhesive is on it that is different than
any other regular adhesive? I have used other cell phone type adhesives in
the past and they don't hold up under the extreme heat.

I can't tell you what they use but on the few occasions I've stuck one
in a car it was one hell of a job to get it off again! Large surface
area, high strength adhesive etc. I have a US Colleague out in Texas
who uses one and it survives the heat there.

I use the Garmin non-skid bean mount bag for my StreetPilot 2610.

I think you'd have to engineer you own bean bag mount for a TomTom but,
from what I hear, it is a major advantage in that you can remove GPS
without leaving any evidence that the GPS has been removed. That might
keep an empty mount from encouraging someone to break into the car in
the hopes that they can find a GPS to steal.
