Garmin or Magellan Software

| I currently have a Garmin 2610 and wish to upgrade to a unit with a larger
screen. My problem with Garmin is that I do not find the computer software
to be very user-friendly at all. I also use Microsoft Streets & Trips &
occasionally Delorme, & find that routing is much easier & intuitive than
with the Garmin software.
I researched Garmin Nuvi 670 et.al, and the Magellan 4040. I could find no
information on the availability of or use of any provided software.
Is desktop software provided with either of these, & if so, how does it
compare to City Navigator?
Thanks, folks.

| From online reviews I've read,
the garmin and magellan
aren't interchangeable.

Instead of wasting time researching thing has nothing to do with your
hardware, I would suggest to spend extra time to learn what you have and
what your software has to offer.
City Navigator has nothing to with computer software, or City Navigator =
is
the street level MAP DATA for your Garmin 2610. What you need to learn =
is
using MapSource, and you don't really need MapSource unless you want to
PRINT the route, or your Garmin 2610 just about anything you need.

| My error... I mis-stated the software I was at odds with. It's Map Source
that I dislike. Point taken.
My point was that I dislike Map Source & find its interface less than
accommodating. I would like to get another GPs for the car & hand my 2610
down to one of the kids.
I would still really like to read something about the type of software that
is used for the Magellan and Garmin units that I mentioned.
Bust my balls if you must, but that's all I want.
Thanks for the help straightening me out on the software nomenclature. I
sure hope I can grow up to be as proficient as you some day.
