Redid the metroguide maps with metrowhizz.
Followed the instructions and got
them dl'd to the vista cx I recently got.
I've got routing and descriptive turn information
and the highway screen is pretty neat.
If you haven't tried out metrowhizz, do so.

Using the maps generated by Metrowhizz, can you do a "find" for a street
address? I used Img2gps to download Metroguide North America maps to my
Venture CX. I can route with the maps and get turn by turn instructions,
but I cannot do a "find address".

Are you trying to do a find address
on the handheld vista cx?

As I mentioned, I'm using a Venture CX.

Well, first off, I used Metrowhizz and metroguide.
You use the metrowhizz wizard to load the metroguide
maps onto the handheld. Metrowhizz has
the instructions on the wizard and you select the area maps in metroguide
and then the wizard takes over once the img file is calculated in the pc,
and then
it loads it to the handheld. I used it to enter 2 routes calculated on the
laptop as well.
Used it on a short trip to Savannah, GA and was able to use it to navigate
to a
location. You can zoom in to the address you want, then
you use the menu togglebar on the front of the unit (vista cx,venture
cx,legend cx etc)
to place the little white triangle, I guess you would call it,on the
destination.
When the white triangle is on the address there is a little
circle to show you it is on the address and it will have a little popup
with text that shows the address. Then you press the toggle and save as a
waypoint,
then it gives you the option to "go to" the address.
Maybe there is another way to do it, this is how I was able to find
my way around.
I pre-planned my routes the night before on the laptop.
I did bring my laptop to use in case I had trouble with the handheld, so
I could access the maps. But, didn't need to use it since I
figured out how to find the address on the handheld.
I have not used Img2gps, so I can't say if it works the same as metrowhizz.
