Author Using MapSource

Good day everyone;

I'm new to GPS units. I got the Zumo 550 to use in my car and on my
motorcycle. I'm not real sure how the MapSource software works. I guess I'm
use to the regualr types of mapping software. For instance, I'm used to
opening mapping software and creating a route; type in current address and
then put destination address. Get directions and go. The MapSource does not
seem to work this way. Can somoen give me some tips to get over the learning
curve? I have looked at the help file but it does not seem to give me what
I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Marcus

Well, I guess I will answer my own post. I found out how to do addresses
etc. But, what a pain to go through all of that. I wish the interface was
better and easier to get around in. I guess only MapSource will work with
the Garmin 550.

Thanks,
Marcus

Drag'n'Drop in Mapsource to plan a route is just about as easy as you
can get. I am not sure why you should find it a faff other than lack
of familarity.

Maybe the biggest problem is not being familiar with it. On the other hand,
you mention drag'n'drop. Give me some examples on how this works. drag what
to map? Drop source on map? Some details would be helpful.

Thanks,
Marcus

Any idea how long it takes to be approved after registration so that I can
log in and read and post in the forum?
Thanks,
Marcus
