A friend referred me to RoadComm.net which offers free navigation for phones. I was surprised to find out it works much better than I expected.

The voice turn instruction is clear and precise. Search for biz, restaurants were able to find newly opened El Pollo Loco for me.

It also includes a browser, email tool, social network, traffic map etc. I was able to use my Yahoo address book’s address for navigation and making phone calls to contacts. The business search results are also much better than paied service.
Very easy to use, need very little typing.

It was not this good the 1st time I use it. I have being using it for 6 months, in between they have made huge improvement according to beta user's input. Up to now, my experience is very good with them.

It works well with my Nextel i580 and probably all Nextel phones. They said they will support other carriers soon while we have not received their notice about my son'e Verizon phone. My son probably cannot wait but to switch to Nextel.

It's truly free to me while I am not sure it's free for registered beta users only or to everyone. However they are still in beta thus it's not too late to register.

I tried RoadComm.net free app & service out and it works about the same with my build in GPS except their map and business database are more update.

I can also access real-time traffic, Yahoo mail, company mail, Facebook etc.

I happened to be a Nextel user that's what they support now but they said they will support other carriers soon while they didn't give exact date.

Comparing with regular GPS, it's a different experience. Everything is realtime and updated.
