avoiding highways, and major roads in autorouting. also POI campgrounds,
parks, scenic features like water falls ect.,,, Any help sure appreciated

The TomTom can do these things, but you biggest problem will be a) mounting
the unit and b) how to power it. The battery is only good for 2 to 4 hours,
depending on the model.

Arkon makes a bicycle mount for pda's. Proporta.com makes a usb aux
rechargeable power supply I use for it.
Tom Tom reviews state it's hard to install, and difficult to operate.
Starting to wonder if this is a good system for bicycling, finding
campgrounds, trails, landmarks, history places. Any suggestions would
greatly be appreciated. Just don't want to have to keep spending my fixed
income testing everything out their. If anyone knows a good pda gps review
site that would be very helpful,
Thank you

TomTom is one of the easiest to both install and use available, now
sure where you read otherwise? What were you planning to run it on and
where?

Running it on a ipaq hx2410 / pocket 2003 2nd Ed
The Tom Tom Nav 5 is a plus with campground POI far as I know. I plan on
using it in the USA & Canada. It would be nice to be able to load all the
maps on 2G SD cards.

You can get the entire map of USA & Canada on a 2GB card.

Not at all. TomTom is probably the easiest program in the world to install.
You can have problems with it if you are using a pirated copy, but the
solution to that is simple.

Well that depends on what POI's you have. Certainly in the UK I would prefer
to use OS Landranger 1:50,000 maps to plan my routes and then use tomtom to
give me the turn by turn info.

Thank you Mark. I read mixed reviews at Amazon from users which may not be
very computer savy. One more question would be how good their customer
support is for my area. That will be important in the event I have issues
