Hello all,
I am looking for a solution to plot multiple location data on a
digital map. i am using a microcontroller to select the location
string from the NMEA sentence and transmitting it to a central
monitoring station. how do i plot this data. please suggest GIS
software to use and the way to plot this info on the digital map

I use Google Maps (API) to plot my data.
Works great and lots of support available through various online forums.

If you're not a Google kind of guy/gall, you could also use Yahoo or
Microsoft's Virtual Earth.

There are of course lots of commercial product available...
