Does anyone know what mask angle is used in the Garmin 76csx? This
page was showing one sat for quite a while before my receiver
acknowledged it's availability, and the map shows a few more way off
to one side that the receiver just doesn't want to see. And NO -
there were only 11 shown in the display at the time.

Why would you say that is based on my ISP?
It looks like a worldwide map for me, and I don't see any indication that
it is supposed to be anything else.

The video of WAAS Satellite Status is cool. It shows satellites wandering
the globe... Requires a DivX codec, downloaded from the video help page.

I see some as green, some as blue, but I also see a few yellow ones. I
would say they are color coded to correspond to the keys at the bottom of
the screen, not the location of one's ISP. The green are certainly not all
visible to me.
Those look like Precision Approach, Non-Precision Approach, Do Not Use, and
Not Monitored.
Watching the video, you can see the satellites change color as they wander
the earth.

I don't think the colors have anything to do with your position. I don't
see that mentioned anywhere. I just started a browser from a machine in
the UK, and it shows the identical display as my server in California.

That is a cool picture. I downloaded the Trimble whatchacallit to get only
a tiny bit more customized information than what I can visualize from that
graph.
The videos are very interesting, the orbits aren't what I expected.
Bad guess on the colors, but bad text not explaining it on the opening page
of the web site ;-(

What "whatchacallit!" are you referring to?

For those interested the Trimble SW is free and available here:
http://www.trimble.com/planningsoftware_ts.asp
Don't forget to also DL the ephemeris file! Then start the SW, go to the
menu Almanac/Load, and load it.

Let's see, where do I think I am...
Whatismyipaddress locates me fairly accurately, near Dublin, Ireland. I
thought it had located me in Wales the other day, which would be a little
silly, but given the vagaries of my location verses my ISP's reported
location, I thought that might be close, maybe reported there for tax
reasons.
What about http://www.nstb.tc.faa.gov ? Even if they were paying attention
to your IP address for the status map, that one should work.
The plot is "WAAS Satellite Status" on the left. That works for me today.

The positions are the lat lon computed from the almanac.
The color coding is WAAS's status of that SV based on the current
broadcast WAAS UDRE. Not monitored, Do not use, Good for
Non-precision approach (UDRE = 50 or 150 m), good for precision
approach (UDRE <= 15 m). Sorry for not chiming in sooner but
this group has been NSFW as of late.

Yes, have tried all URL's in the thread and none respond.
I get a "connecting to ..." in the status bar, then a not responding/timed_out
error page.

I can't get to the site from my personal provider (GMX, Germany, IP
range 80.x.x.x) but I can from work (HP). And that is within minutes
difference (trying to connect, tunnel to work, try again, close
tunnel, try again). So it really seems to be locked to the US.
