Don't be silly! We're not daft you know!
Look at it this way - the present Prime Minister is a Scot from Kirkcaldy in
Fife, (my MP in fact).
The last one was born in Scotland and educated in an Edinburgh private
school.
Most of the Westminster Government cabinet are Scots.
The Scots have their own parliament.
The Welsh have their own assembly, as do the Northern Irish.
There is no English parliament nor English assembly.

The present royalty were descended from James VII King of Scots, (Jamie
Saxt), who took over the English crown to become also James I of England.
Hence the two countries title of, "United Kingdom", and this was over 100
years before the Scots & English agreed to unite their Parliaments.
Note that the Scots royal title is, "King/Queen of Scots", while that of the
English is, "King/Queen of England".
The reason is that the monarch of Scots held Scotland in trust for the Scots
people. The English Monarch, though, owned both the country AND the people.

Now the present royals adopted the name Windsor to hide the fact they were
from the House of Gotha, (Sax-Coburgs & German).
However, the late King George, (a Sax-Coburg), married the late Queen Mum
who was Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and 100% a Scot of the royal line and raised in
a Scottish Castle.

Here endeth the history lesson.

So go figure out - just who is subject to whom in the UK of Great Britain &
Northern Ireland?

Now I had better DARFC.
