Recommendation for GPS software for Windows Mobile 6
|
|
|
| I am about to get the HTC Advantage, with built in GPS, and would like
to get GPS/Navigation software to go with it.
I know there are a lot out there. I prefer the Map style like this:
http://www.microsoft.com/streets/Pr...ls.aspx?pid=002
The type that looks like you are looking at an actual map, but I am
willing to look at others. I also would like the software to be able to
know where the nearest Burger King, McDonalds, 7-11, Chinese resturant
etc...
I have seen and used the Lexus Navigation system, and love it. It's got
to be one of the best on the market.
Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Chaz

Forget Streets & Trips, consider the soluions from Intellinav, CoPilot,
TomTom to name a few. There are lots of excellent PocketPC GPS
solutions available and some are even more capable than the Lexus
system :)

| I'd vote for iGuidance from inavcorp.com. It's got a nice mobile PC
mode that puts the keyboard on the screen (assuming you've got a touch
screen on the Advantage). CoPilot and Route 66 are also options as
well as TomTom, but the "european" vendors seem to charge a lot more,
and I'm not sure how well they do with US roads.
You wont' be disappointed with iGuidance 4.0.
BTW, how are you going to get the GPS signal to the Advantage - can
you use an external antena if the machine is on the car seat?
otherwise a $60 bluetooth GPS might be best.
Good luck,
Larry

The HTC Advantage comes with TomTom NAVIGATOR 6.

| I think the Advantage has a GPS receiver built in.
