Lowrance Expedition C: Memory icon blinking???

There is a little icon on the bottom right of the screen that blinks
from time to time, especially when scrolling or zooming the map.
Sometimes it takes a while for the screen to update also. It appears
that it is having trouble accessing the memory in a timely fashion. I
swapped out the mem card and batteries, with no change. Any idea what is
happening? Thanks, Greg.
