This Dell e1405 core duo runs on Vista Home Premium, and has
integrated Bluetooth. I'm computer-literate, but GPS-ignorant
other than my car installation.

I'd like to find a small gps receiver that will connect
wirelessly from 6' away, through a glass door. If wireless is
not practical, USB can be made to work.

View of the sky will often be limited in this application, so I
assume the receiver should have max channels - not 12, but
possibly 32. Is that true?

I also need compatible maps for the Mediterranean and the U.S.

The market (various makers, eBay, a local store) is very
confusing with claims that are difficult to sort out. Where
should I go, and what should I buy and download?

A plus would be compatibility with a Treo 755p w/Bluetooth.

Thanks!!

The Garmin GPS-10 has done a great job for me.
Strong bluetooth signal to laptop.
