Newbie question: POIs

| I've just bought a tomtom 1 and am happy with it. I installed the
tomtom software expecting to be able to download POIs but only found
wireless hotspots in the UK! I want useful things like nearest
supermarkets, pubs etc if I'm stuck in a part of the country that I
don't know.
If tomtom can't offer me this do I just trawl the 'net for POI sites?

Tomtom come with a list of POIs but they may not be enabled by default -
use the TT menus to enable any of the supplied POIs

Yes many/most can be downloaded for free
