I believe there has only ever been one version released Version 2.00 but
you could try contacting Garmin.
It's a good time to buy as the price has recently dropped to $120 for
the CD version.

I would advise you not to buy the preloaded SD cards as they cannot be
used on your PC while the CDs can.

| I did contact Garmin today and was first told version 4 but then I
asked about version 6 so the agent went to inquire and his respnse
then was version 2. I will buy one but I will not be happy if I find
out that I bought an older version. I'll call those 2 websites that
you gave me. $120 is a good price.
Good advice on the preloaded SD cards. Thanks

| Hi guys, many people like the topo maps for hunting and fishing. The last
time the topo maps were updated in Canada they were over 30 years old and
the current are something like 20 yrs old. These maps are made by the
government and they do not use them anymore at least here in Nova Scotia.
My brother that works for DNR said that they will probably never be updated.
DNR use GIS maps and they do everything that they want. Unless some
private company can obtain permission to update them, it will probably never
happen. Even metroguide Canada is very out of date, roads in New Brunswick
over 7 or 8 years old not on the map. I believe as long as our government
is in charge of updating maps we will be living in the dark ages for our
maps.

Try going to www.garmin.com and use their viewer to see how detailed
their topo maps for an area you're familiar with to see if they're any
good for your use. I don't think the topo maps can get out of date
unless there's an earthquake or something -- the roads on the topo
maps however are a different story. Garmin topo for Alta and BC seem
to be fairly up to date street wise.
