hi

I have TomTom version 6 point something. I know the something
matters. But I don`t know off hand. I don`t have it in front of me.

This version of TomTom that I have, when I go to
"Navigate to"
I have to choose , London, the other options are far out.

When I choose london, a postcode in e.g. Woodford, IG6 or whatever,
does not work. (I cannot test this right now, tomtom is far away)
If I type in something like Ilford, as a town, then it works.

I can see the damn road on an A-Z. I don`t need to know it is in
"ilford". Can`t I do a similar thing with my TomTom?
worst case scenario, I would need a list of all the towns that -it-
uses.. I think when I typed in "Woodford" it did not find it. I had
to type Ilford. I have had similar situations with other areas.. I
don`t have a sense of direction, and cannot rely on myself knowing
what towns a postcode could be in.

Less so what towns the tomtom actually uses.. Alot of the postcodes
work when town is london. But some do not.

I guess I could get a table of postcodes and their towns. And hope
that works.. Ideally I would like the TomTom search software to find
a darn street given a postcode.

I had an old version of TomTom , also v6, which did not accept full
postcodes. I had to enter for example "SW3 ?" where ? is any digit
(literally any digit, it made no difference! i just used 0). Then I
would give the streetname. Interestingly that version of TomTom did
not need to know the town.
