I just downloaded the GPS Trackmaker software to use with my Magellan
Crossover. I can not get the software to connect to the GPS. Does anyone
know if it is compatible with this GPS. It looks like a great peice of
software and I would love to use it. Any help would be great.

Thanks

I've not looked at a Crossover before. The online manual mentions those
ave a USB connector and there is a software interface for uploading POIs
or maybe even photos or music files from a PC to the receiver.

When you connect that to a PC via USB, is it seen as a removable drive
in Windows Explorer?

And if you look at the Control Panel, do you see a Magellan USB device
or anything like that listed?

If you don't see the latter, it may be that Magellan has not built as
hardware interface for NMEA data into the receiver. I don't notice any
mention of users being able to get NMEA data out of the Crossover in the
online manual and they do not list any accessory cables or adapters for
it such as would be used for RS-232 serial or USB interface for
navigation or navigation data.

The Magellan product line is becoming sort of mysterious, I was a
Meridian user for quite a while but shifted to a Garmin (76Cx) handheld
a couple of years ago.
