GPSMap 76C Question

| If I understand things correctly, it is possible to load two or more
different maps of the same area (say, topo and MetroGuide) and select the
one you want to view. Is this correct? If so, how do you load the two maps?
Does one not overwrite the other? I've read the manual but don't see answers
there.
Thanks for any help.

| You highlight the maps on one product on mapsource then change to another
product on mapsource and it remembers all the maps that have been
highlighted. If you look over at the left menu and click on the maps you
will see the total maps highlighted from as many different map products as
you want. You can keeps track of the total MB size at the bottom of the left
menu.

| It is possible to do but the maps are not like transparencies so you will
only see the map that is given priority. Usually street level maps over
topo. To see the other maps you will have to turn off the witch ever maps
you are showing. You can turn off the maps in the map setup pages.

| You put mapsource on your computer and all the programs become one. Then you
choose your "map sets". The map sets may contain information from more than
one program such as Topo USA and City Select or Metro Guide, etc. then you
download the map set to your gps. Now your gps contains the information for
both (or more) programs but it will only let you view one set of overlapping
maps at a time so to view the others you have to turn off the dominant set
you don't want to see. I think this is a bad feature of the garmin units and
it could be solved if they used memory cards so you could just download
different programs to different cards. Its a pain in the DUPPA to turn all
the maps off that you don't want to view. I have a Garmin GPS Map 76 cs.
Topo USA, Topo Canada and City Select. I have maps from all of them
downloaded to my gpsr. It can get confusing trying to figure out witch one
to shut off. You only have to shut off the set that has priority because
that is the set that wont let you see through. They could of solved this if
they let you view them as transparencies also.
