It's 3.70, not 3.80.

No, actually, its 4.70!

Along those lines, the info for that release says "Added ability to
mark a waypoint. This feature is available from the My Locations
page." Has anybody figured out how to use that yet? I see no change in
My Locations.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's the difference between
saving a favorite location and marking a waypoint with the c330?

I guess my answer to that would be that a waypoint is "automatic"
whereas a favorite location is "manual". What I mean is...

One of the criticisms of the C330 is that you can't plot a route. You
can only be "here" (perhaps using the Set Loc to set your current
location) and the destination. You can't specify stops or waypoints
along the way.

What I have been doing to get around this is to just set manual end
stop as my waypoints. I would just label them as xxx1, xxx2, etc. and
just manually switch to the next one when I arrive at the first.
Tedious, but it gets the job done. A true waypoint (a Via in the
Street Atlas sense) would be automatic - i.e. when you get to the
first waypoint it automatically goes on to the second, etc.

The point is that they went out of their way in the update contents
list to imply that something has changed. But I can't find any change
there at all.

That makes sense. Thanks, Bob.

I have tried some fairly detailed questions to Garmin email support,
but haven't received any helpful answers yet. I still don't understand
the difference between a saved location and a waypoint, and they can't
seem to help. I will keep trying...

That's what I have been doing. Again, thinking in Street Atlas terms,
everywhere I would have put a Via in Street Atlas, I just put another
named location in the C330, and sequence them with numbers.

So I start going to, for example, DEST1, and when I get there, I just
go to DEST2, and so on. Its a manual operation, but it gets the job
dne.

I haven't received any more email responses from Garmin. The last one
asked me to call tech support, but when I did the delay was 30-45
minutes, so I geve up.

Sorry for slow reply, been out of town.

Thanks for the info. I guess I was hoping for a "via" function, but
not to be.
