Hi

I have been asked to put together a generic Powerpoint presentation to show
the basic use of a hand held GPS.

Just wondering if anyone had something similar I could tweek rather than
starting from scratch.

DS,

I've got a PPT presentation that I made, which focuses more on mapping
software, but has some slides defining basic concepts (waypoints,
routes and tracks, etc.). It's pretty big. 100 MB I think.

What kind of GPS do you use? I used Garmin's xImage program to capture
GPS screen shots and then PhotoShopped it onto a 60CS.

Hi Rich

I would be most interested in seeing aspects of your presentation, I am sure
it is highly relavent and could save me a lot of preparation time. I could
download it if you were willing to make it available.

Many thanks for the tip to use Garmin's xImage, I had not heard of it, Im
sure it will help me enormously. I had planned to use my digital camera to
take pictures of the screen and then use a graphics program to crop the
images.

As for the GPS, I use the same as yourself, the 60CS. I have found it to be
an excellent piece of kit for Flying/Sailing and Walking. My only gripe with
it is that I can not find a way to change Grid References from 10 fig down
to 6 fig which I could on my old Garmin. Is it possible?

Regards

DS

Hi DS-

I won't have time till tomorrow evening, but will try to get you the
PPT file then. I'll try to zip it. There will be quite a few 60Cs
screens you could use.

As far as your reference to...

....I'm afraid you've lost me there. Maybe someone else can help with
that.

Is your reply-to email address real? I'll send you a link to my
presentations. I do a basic (sort of a buyers guide) presentation, and an
advanced land navigation using the UTM course for my local Recreational
Equipment Incorporated store.
