Newbie question here Etrex Legend C

| Ok.. I am new here and just got my first GPS Etrex Legend C. I don't have
any map software yet, but it is on order and will be here Wednesday..
My question is.. When I first got my Mapsource software and loaded it, I
could have sworn that there was a way to plug in the GPS and use the laptop
as a display. Of course the first thing that I did was to down load the
upgrade from Garmin and now it doesn't seem to want to connect. I can
download tracks, waypoints and everything else, but was interested in using
it live with my laptop for longer trips.
Is this possible with this unit? Or will I have to download at a later
time?

Yep, that's correct.

The online functionality has been removed in Version 6.7.
Have a look at [1], "Changes made from version 6.5 to 6.7":
o Removed real-time tracking from MapSource.
Use nRoute for PC real-time tracking applications.

You just have to download another 25 MB. See [2].

| You will need to download the nRoute software from Garmin to replace this
functionality. It is a free download.
