You will need a serial cable and driver for the i700. I got one here:
http://www.thesupplynet.com/product...cfm?prodID=7485
Then you will need a serial cable for your GPS. You can get from Garmin or
a number of resellers. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can get
a cable head here: http://www.pfranc.com/

Wow Alan, you just saved me a trip to the outdoors store to return the
eTrex! I thought that there was no hope! Will the pfranc eMax cable
connect to the serial cable from the supplynet website? and that's it? Do
you have the same setup? I'm dieing to know...TIA

Yes, the pFranc emax cable should connect directly to the supplynet cable.
My setup is with a Garmin GPSMap 60CS, but I learned about the supplynet
cable from someone with an eTrex.
I use the PPC version of G7toWin for waypoint and track management, and have
played around with a few mapping apps, but the internal mapping and routing
of the 60CS is so good, it hasn't been worth it to me for every day use. If
I had a basic eTrex though, there is a lot of good stuff available.
If you only want to use this for the GPS, you could snip the serial end off
the supplynet cable and connect the pFranc cable head, and have a shorter,
less complicated cable.

Well, I had purchased all the cables, pFranc and the connetor to my phone
from the SupplyNet cables, downloaded the driver for my PPC (openport 2.1)
and all I get is on the screen for the GPS setup just reads "checking port"
seems like there is no feed from the GPS unit (etrex) Do you have any
ideas? please advice any help is appreciated!
