| Mayhap they'll soon be so eager to update cartography software. What a
boondoggle.

| I don't get it, what does this Updater do? What is it good for?

Automatically senses your unit and checks for any driver/software
updates. The Garmin site would have been a good place to check it out.

Never read the fine print. There ain't no way you're going to like it.

| Exactly!
I can see no use for this gimmick. It's much easier to just check the
website for any updated software than to detach my GPS and then attach
it to my computer to do the same thing.

| Trust me there is a use for it. I've seen GPS sales people in chain
stores that couldn't even turn a GPS on!!!! For those types (computer
inexperienced) they need all the help they can get to update their GPS
firmware. However I agree....if you have limited knowledge on how to use the
Internet and a GPS there is no reason to use the web updater. I tried it
yesterday just to see what it done and I could do it faster by just going to
the normal update page.
