Author text to gdb

Is there way to import/convert a text file into garmin gdb file for
download to the streetpilot2610?

An example of what I'd like to do is - type up a few addresses that I
would like to visit and then import them into my mapsource program so
that it can compute the most effective route and then download to the
flash card of the unit.

TIA,

ExpertGPS can import various file formats, and can then output in
*.MPS format. MapSource can still use those files.

The flash card on the 2610 only holds maps. You'll have to download
other data directly into the unit itself.

It sure would be a lot easier (from a user's perspective) to keep all
the data on the card, wouldn't it?

Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

But I am puzzled when you say that the flash card only holds the maps.
In past I have created routes, way points, etc and copied them to a
flash card that wasn't in the unit. Later I popped that flash-card
into the unit and I did not miss any information that I entered? Maybe
I am too naive a user to know about any other information that you are
referring to.
