Mapping GPS for area with no current maps

| Is it worth buying a mapping gps for primary use in an area for which
MapSource does not carry maps, and probably won't for a while yet?
Is it a riduculous waste of money or do any of the secondary features
of the new mapping models make up for the additional cost?
Thanks

yes, it's worth to use a mapping GPSR
BTW: Garmin is not the only source of maps for a mapping GPSR from
Garmin ;-)
And you can build your own maps in Garmin's map format (IMG)

Pierre,
one reason is so you can load Garmin's WorldMap. Requires only
very little memory, by the way.
