Software to Viewing waypoints

| Is there a software program which will allow one to view the waypoints
closer than 20 meters as in Mapsource? I would like to get as close as
possible as the waypoints are in close proximity to each other.

| You might want to try GPS Trackmaker, freeware available at
http://www.download.com/GPS-TrackMa...4-10065579.html
It allows you to zoom in as close as about 5 pixels per yard.

| I downloaded the program. Insetting the program up for my GPS, I have a
Garmin CF Que1620 and the program is looking for a serial port to identify
the GPS unit. I see their home page is not working. Do you know if the PDA
will work this software? I tried to save my Garmin maps in a different
format, but GPS Tracker would not recognize the formats.
Thanks for the help, it looks like a good program if I can get it open my
maps.

| Scott,
I am not sure what you mean by "Garmin maps". If you mean the maps loaded
by Mapsource the answer is no. GPS Trackmaker can calibrate .gif and .jpg
images and place data (waypoints, tracks, routes) on those calibrated
images. If you want to use the Garmin maps, you could take a screen-shot of
the map area of interest, convert it to .jpg, and go from there with GPS
Trackmaker.
From your post, I take it that your gps communicates through a USB port (I
am not familiar with the CF Que 1620 so I am guessing). I do not know if
GPS Trackmaker has USB as an option, but a work around would be to download
the information with Mapsource and save it as a .gpx file which can then be
read by GPS Trackmaker.
I also noticed that the GPS Trackmaker home page has gone down recently---I
don't know why.
