Author Running Mapsource from a 1 gb memory key?

I am going on a cycling trip to France this fall, and would like to
take my Garmin 60cs.

As I am traveling light, a notebook is not an option. Can I load and
run Mapsource onto a large memory stick and then use it at internet
cafes to manage my routes and waypoints?

Probably not. MapSource has to be "installed" to run and has a number of
registry entries to make it go.

You'll find them here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\So
ftware\GARMIN
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\S
OFTWARE\Garmin

With 1GB of storage, you ->might be able to arrange things on that memory
stick so that you could install the software from it onto the cafe's
machine, use it and then uninstall it when you were done. I say ->might
because I don't have a real idea of how to do that.
