| What's the difference? Just the hard drive?
I know that you can unlock the City Streets software so that it will work on
two units. Does the 2620 come with the actual CD so that I can unlock and
use it with another unit, or is it just preloaded on the hard drive?
I found a good price on a refurbed unit from GetFeetWet.com. Anyone had any
experience with these people? Seems like that's pretty much all they do is
sell Garmin units.
Thanks all.

Basically, plus the later 2620's don't have the slot so you can replace
the microdrive with a CF card.

No, it's pre-loaded, you get no CD's or MapSource software.

I don't know them but in my opinion and most other people's here is that
the 2610 is far more versatile and also more rugged with no hard drive to
vibrate to pieces. If you look in the right place you'll find the 2610
with a 2GB card for less money than the 2620 anyway.

| Thanks, I was leaning toward the 2610 in the first place just because I did
like the fact that I got the software and could use a plain ole' compact
flash card.

Yeah, what he said.
I bought my 2610 from Amazon a few weeks ago for $619. My first unit came
with cosmetic scratches. I informed them of this (via their online form)
Friday evening and my Friday night (about 3 hours later) they apologized and
set up another unit to be shipped overnight on Monday to arrive Tuesday.
EXCELLENT customer service in my opinion.
I then just earlier this week ordered a 2GB SF card from Dell for $108
($160 - 20% - $20MIR) via a posting on SlickDeals.
I went with a no hard drive model as I am using it both in my car and on my
Motorcycle. Had I gone with a hard drive based unit I probably would have
bought the Lowrance i-way 500 instead (about the same price as a 2610, 20GB
hard drive, half for maps and other half for built in MP3 player) but just
didn't feel comfortable having a hard drive based unit on my motorcycle.
