Pan feature in eTrex Summit

Hi,

I'm a very pleased user of a GPS12 for 6 years. But, because of the lack of
elevation data in the saved track, I have purchased me recently an eTrex
Summit.
One feature I miss is the "pan" feature on the track page. I used this while
hiking with my GPS12 to pan to a certain point on the track map (mostly the
beginning), mark that point and then a "goto" that point.

Is there a method with eTrex Summit to do this?
