A lot of the folks on the BMW forum that I frequent indicate approx. 5%-%7 error in speed
calculations when used on their scooters, this was mostly with the 26** series of Garmins mounted.

Look in the owner's manual. U have the 76CS and in the manual, it gives
velocity accuracy as 0.05 meters per second steady state.

It's basically determined by the accuracy of frequency measurement since
velocities are derived from the Doppler shift of the satellite ID signals.
