| I am trying to save all my waypoints to a CD of old mines and quarries in Oregon. What should I save them as, so everyone who buys the cd can open it in they're mapping program and their GPS's?
Thank You for any help

While it's a pretty bloated format, GPX is probably the most universal.

| Shorty,
You might also want to save them as a simple text file or .csv, or Excel
etc.

Unless they are home address, many GPS has millions of address of =
interest
places, services, schools, hospitals, lakes, parks you name it!
Garmin, you can just press the ENTER button to mark the location and =
save
as waypoint.

| Thank You for all your suggestions.
The one question that has been asked the most is why do I want to try to sell way points and points of interest when Garmin and just about all mapping programs have thousands of these. The reason is most all the maps I use show a handful of waypoints and points of interest even a few mines. My CD will have 1000's of mines, quarries, rock hunting sites, treasure locations. These things are not on any program. Here is a sample of the information I will be selling:
CONTINENTAL MINE
12 MILES BY ROAD FROM MYRTLE CREEK
29S 03W 20 NW
43-02-26N
123-05-45W
AU CU ZN
M015645
0410190026
81 04
This is just a sample. But my list gives the name, location, Township, Range, Section, Section Fraction, Long and Lat, Material Mined, Host Rock, USGS#, USGM#, Permit Type if found, and Last Up Date.
It has taken me more than 7 years to get this all together.
Thanks Again for all your help.
