Did Garmin set up a web page to view the Version 7 City Select maps, like
you can view version 6?

They have only City Select North America Version 6. Assuming that Version 7
has updated maps, I would like to see them before paying for the unlock.

I had to go to Philly earlier this year for a medical graduation. Now,
I'm talking mid-town Philly here. If you've ever driven there you know
what a freekin' ZOO it is! I'd rather drive in NYC!

Anyhow, my 76CS with CS V6 knew every single street, lane I should be
in, etc. I don't really see how V7 could be much better unless it has
better details of more rural areas but I used mine last year in extreme
northern Maine on a hunting trip and never ran across a road up there
that it didn't know either.

I don't think there will be much different between version's, or as you
see that most hi-ways often won't change for decades. There may be some
street improvement (more lane, new exit, bridge etc.) but usually for few
few short blocks.

Street address can be little problem but won't be so bad, and newer map
may not have all those new addresses.

City Nav NA v7 is now listed in the Map Viewer as well as in the product
section. It looks like City Select v7 NA is still a couple of weeks out.

The problem I am having in Las Vegas and some areas near Detroit is that
new developments are not on the map at all. I checked the new viewer and
there is no difference in maps between version 6 and 7. My street is still
not on the map and it shows some streets that do not exist anymore.
Hopefully the next version will be updated. In the meantime I will not
upgrade and will continue using version 5.

There are places in the U.S. where the roads are not very up to date
(apparently mostly out west). I would say that V7 might be better if those
roads were included.

The street I live on (one block long) is 50+ years old, but doesn't
appear in the v6 database, so it can't be looked up, however it's on
the map, as is my address.

I hae the similar problem my home address which I have lived for almost =
20
years, the maps is just few hundred feet off so the Auto-Route won't =
work.

I am using City Navigator and it has my home address, but just about
200-400 feet (depend on which street I come from) it points to wrong way,=
or
ask to make U-Turn etc.. (when it's just 2-3 house away).

Did you let Garmin know? Errors in existing maps are not uncommon, but have
a low chance of being corrected if we don't let them know.

I don't think they will send me another map to try, so I won't bother to
report the map problem. IOW, if the map doesn't have the information or
little off on some turn, then Garmin can't fix the problem with hardware,
but will need a correct map to solve the problem.

But by letting them know, it might get corrected in the next version. No
one ever tells them, all versions going forward will be wrong.

It makes sense. In general, they do know there is no perfect map at =
every
turn, many have reported the problem here, and as Garmin has the Off-Road
option to get around the problem.

But you are right, sometime we do need to report for the brighter future
(actually I was kinda worry they may send me an excuse email to ruin my =
day
<g> )
