Author Garmin Quest / Quest 2 - List all My Locations - HOW???

Just got a Quest 2

Entered a few caches and locations. After going into the 'find' menu
then 'my locations' nothing shows up. I figured out that the Quest
will only display the waypoints / locations 'nearest you' - ie. nearest
my current position. I'm assuming its something like 50 mile radius.

I don't find this useful. I want to go into my locations and pick my
parents house 200 miles away and route to it. What good is a waypoint
that you can't use unless you are 50 miles from it.

There must be a way to list all user waypoints.. please someone tell me
how to do this!!

Thanks

If it's like on the Quest, when you are viewing the list of locations,
hit menu and select "Find By Name" rather than "Find Nearest". I
think that should do it.

I tried that. I select MENU -> FIND BY NAME... no change. I still can
only see waypoints within a close radius and the top bar still reads
FIND NEAR ME. Could this be a bug? what am I doing wrong?

As you have known I don't have Quest2 to know much about it, and I hope =
we
won't have another fight for nothing. I am trying to pass some general
information based on my previous Garmins, and just hope it may be some =
help
to you. Of course the information may be in the manual, but of course we
often don't know what need to be read.

1. First, you may need to bring your new toy outside to locate your
*current* location.

IOW, your Quest2 may be shipped from thousand of miles away and no way =
it
can locate your home address from hundreds or thousand of mile away. Or=
=20
"Near By" can mean hundreds/thousand of miles away

2. When the satellites locate your location, then you can start toying =
with
it.

Hmmm I think that's about all you need to know... and I hope to hear =
more
possitive how you enjoy your toy later <g>

See other message... your Quest2 needs to know exactly where it's =
located
first before it can do the magic.=20

I have a Quest 1 and the waypoints and find modes are different then my
eMap.
I have listed my fact finding from my Quest 1 here;
http://www.billcotton.com/quest_on_bicycle.htm
I think that the charging from the usb port is a good thing, other usb
devices uses this method. When I notice the requirement for 5 volts, I felt
that this was coming, hopping for a software upgrade for my Quest 1.

No fights!

I did do this. The quest knows exactly where it is with good sattelite
3D reception.

The problem is it only shows my stored waypoint that are within 30
miles of my current location. It won't show any of my stored waypoints
that are 100, 200 etc.. miles away.

Hope this makes sense. Everything else with the unit works great!
nice GPSR!

Just got off the phone w/ Garmin. Its a bug. I knew it!

The FIND BY NAME menu function within the MY LOCATIONS option of the
find menu SHOULD give a complete list of waypoints / custom locations.
Looks like in the Quest 2 software this option is not working.

I was told a new software release will be out shortly to fix the issue!
